Mid March update

So mid March – how’s it all going out there? I am trying not to get overwhelmed by what I have sown already and where I am going to put them all…

I have decided (after much deliberation… and discussion and stress ) that I am going to grow most of my seeds babies up into pots – we decided that this actually is going to work much better for me this year giving me versatility. I will put some in the garden but just be putting them in rather than stressing about where they can go for cutting.

Quick update (22/03/21) as to what I might autumn sow this year before I forget -NTS sow early enough EG Middle end of September pots/trays ready and compost all ready and marathon go – watch compost is damp enough – not too wet not too dry!!!

All the Ammi – majus / Visgana and Daucus Dara – wild carrot – think about how many of each (depends on what the plan will be for 2022…)

Cerinthe Major (they get quite big and seed is quite big had good germination rate so probably sow direct into 9 cm pots

Cornflowers – in small trays

Larkspur – lots and have LOTS of patience as they are a nightmare!!! I would probably blanket sow and then prick out the healthy ones.

Nigella? Im not sure…

Sweet Peas – check time as I think is about December time? Could set to germinate on kitchen roll in plastic ziplock bags and then transfer to root trainers… as soon as they poke heads out of the soil put into the greenhouse

BULBS – BE PREPARED END OCT… order EARLY EG before end of october and get planted up.

Ranunculs – yes

Anenomoes

Gaura – 2 packs 1 in autumn and 1 in spring
