Mid April

As the title suggests it is mid April already and today I don’t feel like I am BOSSING it (which is Aprils theme…) – for the uber observant you might see the dates are odd – I wrote this mid April but didn’t post until 23/04/21 – I feel deflated and just like I am going to fail… I know all that ‘fail’ crap like what is it about – I mean when my friends of family wobble I give them the medicine – don’t worry and don’t wobble you will be fine – hold on tight you will be fine.

So I have taken a bit of time out – feels a little odd about that as the most beautiful day but I needed to realign my brain – so now back to sow the 15 when I went to plant them realised there were 25!!! anemones I have in soak and then… (picture below is before I planted out the Ranunculis which I did before I came in) – these are my last for this season… We will see what is next… I was hoping for mojo but mojo didn’t want to play but at least anxiety and distress decided to go play somewhere else so just pottered around.

I couldn’t work out why on earth ha – my hands were / are so so dry… then the penny dropped i have had my hands immersed in soil mixed with perlite for the last god knows (perlite is sooooo dry and chalky).

Need to sort out photo booth area for modelling plants and flowers… this little cutie at the moment I am not 100% sure what colour she is – another casualty lost label party- totally saved my afternoon (although a million more would have been appreciated!) photo is only making it here as a reminder to myself to get it sorted out!!! I also want to be totally on top of these ranunculi and anemones for next spring – I am planning to do Autumn sow and Spring Sow – but Autumn sown seed and corms actually take a lot more looking after in my opinion than people seem to tell you – the vibe I got was kinda chuck em in and wait for a gorgeous display in early spring… well maybe that is what I heard – in reality they need more attention than that… but oh what a beauty she is going to be – as long as Jack Frost hasn’t had his wicked way!

Moving forward for the rest of April – I think its one foot in front of the other – I need to keep going its no time for giving up worrying that I can’t or won’t manage it – I don’t really know what I am doing anyway so how do I know I can’t do it… I think what is making me wobble is the fact so many people seem to have flowers already to sell – like armfuls not just the odd bunch… I am not a flower farmer I am a home person with some seedlings

Some random thoughts about what I could do differently with cut flowers

  • Offer some of the seedlings planted up that could be planted in their garden – autumn sow some to sell the flowers early and then have spring sown seedlings to be planted out EG Cornflowers, Cerinthe, Gaura,
  • Seeds?
  • Advice Cards EG

Moving on to the last of April – I am going to
