Planting

Companion Planting

I have watched and heard of companion planting – my basic very basic explanation is planting things near each other to discourage pests that cause damage EG Green Fly – I actually like these little monsters BUT they destroy my plant babies and bud so sorry gorgeous monsters you have to go… I am not really OK with bug spray – sigh I mean I am also not OK with losing a whole tray of new seeds to monsters… So alternatives

Companion Planting – I am going to see what happens… appears to be more for Veg plants – I am going to see what happens with flower plants…

First up appears to be mint and garlic chive… – watch out for mint as it can take over so maybe grow in a pot where it is slightly more contained – but I have found it fairly easy to get rid of and preferable to other -Weeds that are impossible to get rid of… but that is just me I feel also I am actually a huge fan of pot – I mean you can quickly move them if you need -but you do need to watch out for watering…

I don’t really have the same feelings regarding slug pellets as you can if you are careful use them more as a deterrent – this year I would like to try nematodes – I don’t have the same love towards slugs – sorry mr slug… 🙁
