Hello welcome to Cactus Girl as this space is called at the moment – this is a project in progress – I chose this name for a blog site many moons ago nothing todo with planting or gardening or Cactus for that matter – I was having a life melt down (I mean like Pre-COVID who could imagine you would!?!) and crying to my husband (crying is a huge part of my life) and saying I just feel so bloody prickly like a… like a…

and he said Cactus…

me – yeah I guess so… more LOTS more tears… possibly wailing… on my part

We decided it maybe cathartic if I set up a blog site and off load – we bagged the name and parked it. Fast forward 10-ish years and I am here wanting to blog about planting and flowers and growing and I said to same husband – I want to blog what I am doing so this time next year I have a diary – I need a domain blah blah blah and he pointed out all the ones I had made him buy over the last 10 years I have a few!!! we settled on this due to the tag line!!! and me still being prickly 🙂

So I am a mum of 2 human children – they are now teenagers and 1 should have left home and been in Australia this year 2020 – 2021 – COVID he is still at home. Second Child is in first year of A’levels (if you are reading this and have any F*** help me questions about teenagers – comment – I can’t really help help – I am not paper qualified – but I can sure commiserate – I adore my ‘babies’ but I bare the scars of a mother and always aim to understand and listen – no judging –
