January Sweet Pea Sowing 2022

Sweet Peas

Yes again! So every year I say NO I am crap at growing Sweet peas and every year I cant resist in sowing them -they have this hold over me… I have ordered Swan Cottage Flower Mix – that was all I was going to grow but… now I am wondering if to add a few more… ummmmm since I draft wrote this and posted it – I have ordered from Roger Parsons… if you look at my Sweet Peas post from 2021 I have more information on there… I am also closely following @thesweetpeaman on Instagram for thought and advice on how he grows his. (There is loads and loads of free advice so have a scoot around online if you need some help advice – also feel free to message me, I will help if I can :))

So – I didn’t do an Autumn sow sweet pea this year – no real reason other than I didn’t – I just didn’t feel it…

I have started this week in Jan and the plan is to succession sow a few – trouble is I find them so rewarding to sow they germinate quickly they look amazing – the potential is just HUGE… – my problem is keeping them going… I put them in pots… – I might try something a little different this year… we will see.

Also I have in the past tended to suffer the whole leggy lulu thing – so I am trying to be very careful and as soon as germinated move out to the green house… –
